This section is designed to present all available information on teachers and institutions that offer instruction related to Viennese Tuning and its tradition. In most cases the study programs and teachers will be associated with the period performance practice departments of particular schools that have such curriculums. However, the criterion for being listed here should not automatically imply such an association, as these listings are open to all bassists and professionals who have acquired experience in this system and would like to offer public instruction.
Featured here you will find a section on schools with details and links on their faculty, curriculums and requirements; and also the individual listing of available teachers in the filed. Due to the variety of backgrounds that each of the listed instructors will have, it is advisable that future candidates explore these listings carefully and assemble as much information on the profile and purpose if their study before commencing the same. The filed of modern Viennese bass research, performance and the instruction is still relatively young and the unified standards for curriculum and instruction are yet to be be developed. It is hoped that this section may facilitate further development of such standards along with the general appreciation of the Viennese bass tradition and its noble technique.
Should you know of any other institution or a teacher who offers instruction on Viennese tuning, please be welcome to forward information to the Contact address.
